Sempervivum tectorum Sunset ..... Sunset is very slow growing but will eventually reach medium large size and produce some chicks on very thick stolons. It stays the same bright green all year. The tips which are quite dark red in summer are almost black in winter making this a striking specimen in the garden or a larger planter. This may be a species: or it may not. It is similar to both tectorum from Val Minera (which has a flatter form and longer, very red tips) and Royanum which also has a flatter form and much lighter smaller dark tips. The color is slightly more chartreuse than what my camera picked up in this picture. In any case Sunset is a beautiful Sempervivum which sells out very quickly at plant sales and markets.
